How to fish them
Idle markers and trap lines with a pitch rod. Skip a shrimp past the fish and let it sink. They lie on their side like a leaf — if you see one, you can usually catch it.
Typical size. Typical 4–10 lb; marker fish can top 15 lb.
Bait
- Live shrimp
- Small crabs
- Soft-plastic shrimp
Regulations
Minimum size and bag apply. Excellent eating; ice immediately because the flesh is delicate.
