• Venice Jetties — The spot. Snook at first light, sheepshead on the rocks in winter, spanish on a chrome spoon.
• Caspersen Beach — Walk south with a pompano jig and a shark-tooth shovel in the other hand.
• Venice Fishing Pier (if open) — Check current status — gulf piers here have a history of storm damage. The jetties remain the constant.
