True tent-only and primitive options are limited right around Naples. Most developed camping is at the state parks. Book well ahead for winter.

Florida camping: Heat and humidity are no joke most of the year — even at night it can stay sticky. Mosquitoes, no-see-ums, and other biting insects are a constant, especially from late spring through fall; good repellent and screened shelter are not optional. You'll also share space with tree frogs, lizards, and plenty of other small critters. They're mostly harmless, but they're everywhere.
