• Boca Grande public ramp — On-island. Tight parking in tarpon season — arrive early or take a charter.
• Placida ramp — The mainland launch most visiting trailers actually use.

Kayak & small craft

• Sound-side kayaks — Paddle Gasparilla Sound for snook and reds when the pass is a parking lot of charters.

• The pass in May is a professional fishery. If you have never drifted tarpon in a crowd, hire a local. It is safer and you will jump more fish.
